2010-CAMP RIGHT WAY
If there is one thing 8th grade basketball players need, it is pointed in the right way. Coach Lucas, for the fourth consecutive year provided an environment for two days that gave the the young fellas a sense of direction for their hardwood goals. Roughly one hundred player gathered at Legends sports complex for two days of of directing them the right way. This intense
basketball, competitive ,and instructional environment provided the truth which was the theme of the camp. Majority of the kids showed a legitimate chance to play at the next Level. Coach
Lucas will ok the release of the top 30 qualifiers for the May camp. Top 5 performers are listed below (college coach evaluations will be on the coach's report)
1) Samir Sehic- 6'7, 4-5 with great body for a high school senior must less 8th grader. Samir has solid motor and good introductory feel 15 feet and in. If he grows to 6' 9" or 10" and continues to develop at the same rate he will be a solid high major evaluation.
2) Dorian Chatman-6'4" wing forward with great long frame and a natural down hill feel from 15 ft. to score. Dorian has a tremendous upside, the potential to grow 3-4 more inches and
develop in to a high major plus perimeter player (with the right developmental atmosphere). He has early similarities of Stephen Jackson minus the motor, LOL he
could earn the nickname of "Big play CHAT.)
3) Charles Simmons-6'3" guard with a lot big plays in his backpack. This kid is long and quick (a rare combination in this business), with a complete skill set. His level will be determine
by how hard he is willing to work under the right guidance, of course it wouldn't hurt for him to grow a couple inches. GOOD PLAYER.
4) Carver Hardy-5'9" combo guard Mike was a breathe of fresh air for this business. I had to ask his summer coach where did he come from. He was a walk up that we had to write in
the list. Mike walked into the gym warmed up like he had just passed on up, on south Houston black top/chain net pick up game. Motor, IQ, and skill set was arguably varsity/17u
ready. His level is only dictated by him developing legit point guard skills. This kid can play.
5) Jarron Greenwood- 5'10" pure point the best pg with any size at the camp. Solid floor general mentality that was capable of getting anywhere on the court he wanted. He would
be a great candidate for four year varsity guy (Nic Wise).
